That First Time

The birth of my firstborn.
My first birth experience.

29 March 2013

Leaking started at around 12.30am.
Was quite confused of what it was actually.
But still quite calmly walked out of the bathroom and started clipping my toenails. (random, I know)

Decided to drive to the hospital as worried the leaking might cause harm to baby. I was 38weeks already anyways. (I only learnt recently that the fluid replenishes every 4 hours?)

Reached hospital, 2cm dilated.
Was put in the lodgers' area as the wards are full -.-'
Was asked to sleep, ok.
But starting to have stronger pains around 4am. So I just sat up since lying down just intensifies the pain. Drinking air zam zam, nibbling on kurma.

Entered the labour suite at around 8am, asked for my husband. I was not induced or anything.
They only managed to get my husband in by 830. 6cm dilated then.
By 930cm suddenly nurse said its already 9cm.
Then I felt like pushing.
Then the doctor came.
Then doctor said baby's heartbeat dropping.
Then doctor asked to push.
Then doctor said will use vacuum.

9.56am, baby out and put on my belly.
I'm a mommyyyy. Hee.
Really cant describe the feeling.

Then the doctor pushed me to OT saying they need to repair my tear in the OT.
Back to labour room at 1230pm.
Held my precious baby again.
Then my husband took him for azan n qamat.

Alhamdulillah my first experience was nothing horrible.
Alhamdulillah.
Hopefully all goes well for our 2nd one.
Can't wait!

Second Go

It's always harder the first time.
True enough.
Though as for my pregnancy, second time IS tougher but smoother all the same.
Tougher as I have a toddler at hand on top of my growing tummy.
Smoother as I don't seem to be having much issues as I did with my first.
My Hb was fine. The lowest was just recently at 10.9. But I have been skipping my Sangobion so that's expected. Being more compliant now :)
As for the stretch marks, the first time around I wasn't really convinced with prevention. Haha. And there's this article saying if you're gonna get it, you're gonna get it. No creams or oil will help you.
But surprisingly, it does help. Applying Bio-Oil twice a day from early pregnancy this time around, I can see the old ones reducing and no new ones coming in Alhamdulillah.
As for keeping the house in order. Much much much better. (Ok, how does that relate to being pregnant, I do not know)
But maybe the realization that things are gonna be different after this kept my perspectives somewhat better attuned. I cook more, laundry are handled much more efficiently than before Adam was around, I sweep more, I shop more, haha. Mommy rocks!
Cengengness more or less the same, but recovery is so much better!
Husband is always there and all ears :) lovelovelove him for that. Sangat!

Alhamdulillah for the blessings, the energy and countless nikmat and rahmat.
Alhamdulillah.
